HeroesCon 2011

Next weekend I’ll be at HeroesCon. They’ve set me up with a table so if you’re going, come find me at table AA-208. I’ll have a ton of stuff to show and sell, so come by and check it out and at very least, say hello. I love hearing from people. Also, if I’ve talked to you on DeviantArt, Facebook, Twitter, etc. let me know who you are so I can make that connection.

This year will have something new for me. I’ll be participating in my first ever panel discussion. The other colorists on the panel are extremely talented so I’m quite humbled to be asked to join them. Here’s the description of the panel:

Color Me Talented

Saturday, June 4th 12:00 PM
Room 203A
Join Dollar Bin’s Adam Daughhetee as he sits down with Laura Martin (Planetary, Astonishing X-Men), Rachelle Rosenberg (Captain America), Charlie Kirchoff (Hellraiser, Doctor Who), Matt Wilson (Thor), Brian Reber (X-Men) discuss this integral aspect of comic art—the coloring.

Another thing that will be new for me this year is that I’ll be selling some sketch cards. In the past I occasionally get asked if I do sketches. Normally I don’t. This year I figured I’ll give it a try and sell some Dr. Who related sketch cards. I’ve come up with a simplified, cartoon styled way of drawing each Doctor. I’ll be selling them for $1 a piece or $10 for 11. I am slow with sketching, which is why I normally don’t do it, so I’m not sure how many I’ll be able to do. So come by and get them while they’re hot! Here are some preliminary drawings to give you an idea of what I’ll be doing with these:

Doctor Who Issue 5 Side-By-Side

Yesterday Doctor Who Issue 5 hit stands. It was another brilliant story by Tony Lee, this time with art by Mark Buckingham. I had the honor and pleasure of coloring Mark’s pages and I just wanted to show a side-by-side comparison of the black and white pages next to my colors.

Email Woes

I just wanted to make a post in regards to my email. If you’ve tried emailing me through my site in the last few months the likelihood is that I neglected to respond. My only excuse is my own laziness. Until today the only means I had for checking and replying to my website email was through my host’s browser client, which I found rather tedious. So, I got lazy and began neglecting it. Now its a few months later and I decided its time I find a new system.

This morning I set up my iPad to retrieve my emails. It took some time to get it to work but it seems to be working now. So I should be able to reply to any emails easily and I’ll be going through my backlog today. If you had sent me an email and I still don’t reply to you by the end of the day, please email me again. I will get back to you.

I apologize for taking so long to reply to you all and I promise it won’t happen again.
